Default Captain phil RIP

for the deadliest catch fans, capt phil died of a stroke at age 53. I though the was a cool guy and liked him on the show. its not a huge surprise unfortunatley since we can see how poorly he took care of himself on the show.

That is so sad...he always said that he would die out there...just didn't think it would be so soon. I love Deadliest Catch, and it wont be the same without him.

He was a heavy smoker though right? Smoking increases your risk of stroke.

Guess sometimes the berring sea gets ya one way or another. I think the article said he stroke dout while they were offloading so at least they could get him to a hospital.

Seems out at sea they dismissed a lot of potentially life threatening stuff with the guys with chest pain and coughing up blood and that sort of stuff. Sure th ecoast guard could fly them out but thats a lot of lost hours not getting the care they need.

That does and I see his diet was les than stellar out on the boat eating all those bacon and eggs day in day out.
