Default Catch and release Harley?

Some guy decided to do a burnout at the end of the pier at the Wharf Rat Rally in Digby, NS. Here's the result...

Clutch is on the left, son! Maybe this should be in the "that will buff right out thread"?

Sea water in the cylinders...not good....soooooo not good.

Funny, but.....

Lifting it out of the water by the front wheel doesn't seem too bright............Probably bent the forks and steering stem. Why not lift it the frame instead?

Ummm, at that point I think it's a total write off and it doesn't really matter any more.

Honestly, it should be fine. We filled one of the sumps of our diesel engines at work with sea water, we filled and flushed it with oil 6 or 7 times and it's been running fine ever since.

However, his electrical is probably screwed which would cost a fair amount to replace.

Either way it's funny when people do dumb things!!

Depends entirely on the rpm when the intake started sucking water. He might get lucky, or his rods could be horseshoes

Completely slipped my mind that the engine was turning.. You're probably correct about it being pooched.

LOL. Thats kinda funny. Poor Rocker.

The good news? I'd only worry about the electrical... Used 1584's are fairly cheap (seen em with low miles as low as 1.5-2k$, as many owners with lotsa money like to pull and replace them.

Or he could rebuild the whole thing with a 110ci for about 4.5-5k. Its bad, but if he doesnt want to write it off, it can be fixed.

Were you there when it happened? Or just a shot off a local site?

Shot off of a local site. You know I'm too anti-social to go to any kind of rally.
