well you were making a (poor) point about him not being able to ride his R1 up to it's capabilities...

so none of us are on the same bikes as Spies/Rossi/Biaggi/Haga/ect...

the talent isn't in the bike... in the rider...

so again... can you handle the bikes to the most of their potential?

The only thing standard on most new Goldwings, are hip replacements.

Goldwings are slow ;P

That's a guy I work with up at the track. He teaches the Lee Parks ARC classes at our events at Loudon NH. Good guy. Not the fastest rider out there, but he gets that thing leaned over pretty good!

It's funny the first time you ride behind him.... big huge boat of a motorcycle... then you see his knee come out like an outrigger. He's so tall it sticks way out... then "plink", his pucks are on the ground.

Looks like his is moving off the bike quite a bit and allowing it to stay more upright, which is obviously what ya gotta do on a bike that big.

My wife and I each have a 06 Goldwings. I suspect (BTW I am no where near as skilled as the rider in the video) the reason he moves around so much is not the weight of the bike. On of the things that make the GL1800s so easy to ride is their low center of gravity. This is achieved but mounting the wide flat 6 low and forward in the frame. While this makes the bike very easy to ride it also limits lean angle so if you need more weight on the inside of the tire in a turn YOU need to put it there. As a wing owner I will tell you they are incredible machines and while nowhere near as agile as a 400lb sport bike the are incredibly agile for an 800lb machine and will spank most of the big air cooled V Twins out there.
