Thanks Troy and Lee.

We were hit with it yesterday morning. Total blindside. Not sure how much time I've got left here, but it's not much. Hopefully something is out here for me though, moving just isn't that appealing at the moment.

My wife has been on unemployment for almost a year. She is receiving the max which is actually about the same is what she was making before she was laid off. She worked full time for a while and about 6 months before she was laid of they reduced her to part time(24hrs/week). Since the unemployment office goes back to what you were making about a year ago(I don't remember the exact amount of time) her unemployment rate is what she was making as a part time employee. She is looking for a job but why take anything that pays less than what she is making on unemployment?

She just went back to work a year or so ago after staying home with the kids for 9 years.

unemployment vs underemployment?
It all comes down to health insurance.

$380/week I think, but I'm not positive. They are taking taxes out so all I see it the automatic deposit amount.

I don't know what it is up here. I know you can receive Unemployment benefits for a year. It's not much but it's not as low as Florida either. Somewhere in the region of $400/week.

Only time I've ever been laid off/unemployed was this year. I didn't qualify for unemployment because I'd been out of the country.

When I told M there were jobs available in ATL and Redwood Shores, she "asked"... "but we're not considering moving there, RIGHT!!?"

Something about not wanting to take another bar and the possible removal of what some may call "vital" organs if I made her do it again.
