It can be done but I don't think it was done for this commercial. The g-force (which can be sort of worked out with the right angles and speed) and the twisting forces are pretty much guaranteed to mess up the car. I doubt they would do that with a brand spanking new SLS.

Clarkson did do it but if you watch the clip he messed the front of the car up pretty good in the process. It was also a Renault Twingo.

Yea, people do it on motorcycles in a ball where there is no "down force", just momentum. I've seen skateboards, motorcycles, bicycles, hot wheels , etc achieve this same feat...why not a car?

also lets not forget unless this was a tunnel they built for this purpose, nowhere have i ever seen a parfectly cylindrical tunnel where this can be done. there are lighting fixtures, safety rails etc etc etc in the way.

The ball is different cause it's a flip. The roll is harder.
