There isn't much of anything as far as failure talk on BMWMOA, but those guys are mostly older folks and not riding it like the younger crowd.

And, let's not forget the reason for the first recall.

The first recall was a limiter put on until the first 600 mile service. Many of the people that bought the bike didn't break it in correctly and ran the shit out of it... blew them up. At the end of the day it is still a motor that requires proper break-in and a rider that will ride it accordingly.

Almost every first year bike is going to have issues, but as I said I watched one do 1:15 laps for 2 hours straight at summit point with no hiccups at all. Also talked to the rider and had nothing but good things to say. Most likely idiots being idiots is the problem besides the normal first model year issues that will be sorted for next year.
