83 hours, 2736 miles. Coastal SC to LA, via a screwed-up southern route.
5 days, 2796 miles coming back on a central route at a more relaxed pace.

A bit over 4000 miles in 9 days last summer. Up to South Dakota and back down. I think I hit 9 states.

1500 miles, 750 each way, three days going out, two days back, two up, on our '85 K100.

Hey, no flaming. We're newbies.

3 days 500 miles. Grand Rapids to Indianapolis and back to Grand Rapids. Torrential rain about 2/3 of the way down, fucking hurricane the entire way back. At least I got to hang out with 10 cool friends and see a MotoGP race.

The longest day has been about 480 miles mostly on back lane twisty type roads. Having done that, I am not sure that I see the appeal about doing 1000 in 24. I have no doubt that the FJR would be glad to take me there, but my body would be so cranky afterwards it wouldn't even begin to be funny.
