No tape or zip ties on my bikes ever. I haven't had a reason to, but I know they are handy. It's best to keep a few zip ties with you at all times.

Ive never had to use zip ties on my new bike other than to keep wires or hoses in place. However, my first camaro was a 81 Z28 and I kept a roll of duct tape in the trunk and I had 3 full bags of zip ties in there, (three diffrent sizes) and there were times I wouldn't have made it home with out them.

it's not my work but the guy who did it is very talented fixing stuff:
