However, older Aprilia RSV Mille wheels fit with minimal effort... and shave off a couple of lbs... If you pay attention, you can get a set shipped from eBay for under $400... that's on the 'down the road' list... though, I'm always on the lookout for a wrecked Busa, TL, or certain SRAD's with light wheels and upgraded forks for cheap... |

Been a while...
Not a lot to report... Tinkered around with the solo seat setup a few times, never got anything to my liking, but I think I got it figured out this weekend... Also, since the last update, I pulled the front brake master and replaced it with one from a Busa - looks way better... replaced the R/R with the MOSFET deal... Finally sorted out the wiring over the weekend as well... re-routing the battery to under the seat... tore apart pretty much the entire wiring harness and rebuilt it... now everything can be hidden behind the frame spars... This weekend I will be hacking/extending the wires to the gauge cluster and the starter relay so they can go where I need them... From there... all I need to do: 1) finish solo seat - thinking thin plastic lining the inside of the subframe (UHMW most likely) as a battery/electronics box... a fitted piece of aluminum on the rear to mount brake lights... and eventually, I'll make a fiberglass fairing of some sort... 2) make a sealed fuse box and mount it where the battery went... 3) brackets to mount the gauges on top of the tank right in front of the steering damper, some to mount the head lights (fog lights) onto the radiator... 4) exhaust mounting brackets... thinking of 1/2" AL that I have laying around, cutting it into 3/4" strips and bending it at the proper angle to use the passenger peg mounts... Not exactly sure how I'm going to go about that though... 5) make the tail lights and signals (acrylic block with LED's mounted inside, should be interesting) From there it will be mobile... Then I need new tires, finish the PAIR valve removal (the guy sealed the vacuum tubes with screws, but I want to do it right with block off plates on the headers), swap chain/sprockets, and make a trick coolant overflow out of an old flask I have laying around... I should be done by... well... let's just hope I finish... Last edited by OneSickPsycho; 10-25-2011 at 04:32 PM.. |

Amen. The list I have wrote up to change the vf into a track bike is almost 2 pages long. Nothing like this list though...
