Oh, and just an FYI. The exhaust actuator failed open on my bike. It lost a bit of low end, but pulled like a champ through the rest of the revs. The only reason I got it fixed is because it was making me deaf.

I'm tempted just to gut one and make my own. I'll be out 100bucks for a stock pipe..

I don't care how good the pipe is. Waiting over 6 months for a pipe is unacceptable. I don't care if it's made out of unobtainium and welded together with the souls of virgins, I'm not buying it. No matter who you are, your slip-on is not worth a thousand dollars and 6 months.

Again, you may not be familiar with the Drummer brand. Yes, it's a lot of money, yes, it's a long wait for the piece...but many Buell riders, myself included, swear by his product.

The desire for exclusivity breeds irrational behavior.
Just look at the people who paid $70k+ for custom choppers that don't ride any better (often, not even as well) as production bikes.

Yes, the Drummer looks & sounds good... yes, I bet it's tough as nails... but I'm not sure I'd cough up a grand and wait 6 months.

I see your rationale. I wouldn't pay it either....and I've got a Drummer now.
