I lost my Golden to cancer, and my girl lost her Akita to the Marley and Me stomach turning disease. Def never easy.
I wonder why Goldens are so prone to cancer?

My best friend had a grandson of comet from full house die of cancer. He was older, but his second golden who was a young female died of a broken heart aka refusing to eat or drink when her buddy died. His mom about had a breakdown. It does seem everyone here has a lot of cancer experiences with goldens.

Goldens are having a bunch more health problems now a days versus back when, idea is that there is too much breeding and in breeding.

And as you all know now, we paid to have brinks cremated. I had already looked into this for "way" down the road and I can not tell you how glad I did.

www.faithfulcompanion.com

This place is super respectfull of your loved on and treats them like their own. Your pet gets tagged and carefully handled. Near to 24 hour turn aroun, no open trucks, and you can join your pet at their facility and take a tour. They do human and pet cremation there (two different units).

Before you get to that difficult spot, consider it and useing their services. A list of partcipating vets is on their site.

Oh God no....that is fucking terrible Gas Man, I'm so, so, so sorry for your loss. When I opened this thread today I actually clicked back a couple of pages to get caught up on all Brinks' hijinks and was feeling all happy looking at his pics....then I got caught up to the last page. So sad man.

Yeah he was one of coolest dogs ever, full of so much character.

I've spent all day today trying to shake off how much this all sucks... the house is so quiet it sucks! Took a half day at work to get some things done and try getting my mind off it. Cut the grass... didn't help. Went to dinner with the father in law... didn't help. Put some LEDs in the wife's new car, tinkering with that... seem to help. A buddy stopped by to check on me... helped a little but got me talking about it more.

This entire thing has been killing me...

It just takes time. Mary and I went thru this in Novemeber when we lost Mochi. We have a few pictures of Mochi around the box with his ashes. Good , "fun times" pictures.

Here's one that we had enlarged and framed

It doesn't bring back your buddy but it does help knowing that you did your part giving him a good life.

Damn Chris... I'm sorry to hear that... I will for ever remember hearing the beast bark and scare the ever loving shit out of me when I was there in 2010... and him throwing himself sideways into me (at waist hight) and nearly knocking me over.

please tell Teen if you both come to Denver, I will console her while you enjoy the mountain roads

seriously... RIP Brinks
