Carry in my home? I have an apartment and guns are easily accessible BUT the reality is if someone suddenly kicked down my door I wouldn't have time to react. A house would be different.
I try to be practical when I carry. I keep a gun in my car at all times becuase I feel that is the most likely place I would need one. If I'm walking into a grocery store then I see no need for it. Unless I'm in a very bad area. One odd place I do carry it is when I road bike. I'll put my 44 in the back of my camelback. Especially on this one bike trail called the Silver Comet Trail. It is a 100 mile trail of paved over train tracks. Already there has been a few murders and many robberies. I don't take chances there. Of couse I"m moving to Illinois where carry is completely banned, even inside your car. But that explains Chicagos very low crime rate.

I usually have my gun nearby me in the living room (nearest the front door and sliding door). Then if I go into the back of the room, I have my other guns. Oh and a 160# dog for said door knocker to contend with. Which if they hurt my dog, I will shot them in the head without thinking twice!

I'll never understand how anyone can be against a regular person carrying to protect themselves. I can't find any logic in the opinion of people like KSGregman. Sure, the chance of being in the path of a mad man is small, but the chance still exists. The problem isn't law abiding citizens carrying a weapon, its with psycho's with guns who could show up anywhere, at any time.
I just have a hard time to understand the anti-gun people. There is just no logic to it. Making guns illegal won't change a thing, making CCW illegal won't change a thing, because the criminals will still always have guns, wether the rest of the law abiding population has them or not. Theres no arguement that a gun is the best form of protection against others with guns.

I'm pro-gun but I tend to end up anti pro-gun advocate.
Actually, its hard not to be anti anti gun advocate. I guess if I could take the NRA and Bloomberg and put them in an out house or something like that... Damn illegal immigrants |

Not as often as I should. The one time I 100% needed one I didn't have a CHL and it's only good fortune that the model home I was meeting the real estate agent at had a porch that was 8-10 feet off the ground at the railing and I was able to roll off of it with a pit bull attached to my foot, hit the ground without further hurting myself and scramble up onto the roof my my vehicle before they caught up to me otherwise I'd have been mauled pretty badly.
Things happen when you least expect it. I normally wouldn't link to arfcom gd but this is something everyone should read whether you carry or not: Street Robberies and You - The Basics] |

His reasoning, as a LEO, sounds right on. Not sure how well it'll play out (legally) for the average joe if he draws and shoots first, but from the survival aspect it seems sound.
