Yeah Korea really has a fucked up history... and it's really overlooked in the US because of Vietnam. there are still families torn apart because of the division.
it'd be like having a 4km wide dead zone on the mason dixon line. can't imagine having family members live 20 miles away... that you'd never be able to see. it's what I was thinking of when I took this pic |

it was never occupied. it was purely for propaganda. they bussed people in to work the fields and "occupy" the city durring the day to make it look as though it was a flurishing... they gave up in the 80's I think.
