Would make the car hot too, on summer days, when you wanna close up, and run the air.

Maybe...frankly, if I can't ride topless, it may as well stay in the parking lot and I'll drive the Bonneville. I don't hate the car but I also don't love it like I love the Bonnie for comfort and ride quality.

Hey, I'm thinking of starting a new thread but you all must have known that I can't own anything and not modify it right?

Here's what I'm thinking so far,

1. Cold air intake (Roush/K&N)-$200

2. 70mm throttle body and larger plenum-$240

3. Borla/Flowmaster exhaust-just FM muffler <$100

4 Hypertech programmer-$379

5. Shift kit- although the programmer may help me in this regard- <$100

6. Black top-$??? don't know for sure yet, I have an acquaintance that does this type of work. Maybe <$600

7. Black Rally Stripes (maybe)- <$200

8. Smoke L.E.D. Tail Lights with sequential turning signals- $150

9. Some minor stereo upgrades...- approx $1,000

10. Might drop the 17/18'' rims for some 18/20'' ones-black and chrome- found the rims on clearance for $600!!! So about $1400 total. Not to mention that the rims on it are stock Ford pieces with new rubber, so I may be able to sell them

11. Hidden hitch class 1 (2,000lbs) for pull a small 4X8 trailer and two bikes- $120 at U-Haul

So about $4500 total
A lot of that stuff can be found used on the corral forum or craigslist if you dont mind saving a little cash and while you are at it, think about a bit of a lowering to make the stance right and a Mach hood would look nice on that car....nice and clean.

Fuck K&N intakes, they are not worth $200, especially if it just sits up high where it sucks hot air. The only intakes worth getting are ones that extend down towards the bottom of the engine bay where they can get cooler air.

Hmmmm.....!!!! Now that is a good point! But doesn't the air come in from the front of the car? I need to investigate!

Yes but the intake that I had on my Stang got the air from the bottom...but still out in front.

Nice list of upgrades and nice find. Mustangs are easy and fairly inexpensive to modify...I like those cars.

Not really. It's blocked by the radiator & condensor, among other things. In most cars, most of the air comes up from underneath.

Gets even worse at low speed or at a standstill. All that heat builds up.

The Mustang forum should be able to tell you what the best intakes are. Or you can just make your own out of ABS plumbing pipe. A cone filter with some pipe shouldn't cost $200.
