I had always heard from old Italians it was for luck. Whatever the reason it is still something I have to fish out of the glass with a fork so I order it without. The fire is just burning up perfectly good alcohol so I'm not interested in that either.

Well, they have a lot of flies there. I suppose any day one of them doesn't end up floating dead in your fucking Sambuca is probably a lucky one.
