Our pics were so-so, the pics above are so much better.

City officials lacked in planning as usual, I think there were 7-8 porta cans, and 1 entrance. The exit line crossed the entrance line. What a mess. People were parked 1-2 mi away and walking at 8;45, they planned to close gates at 9. I'm sure some people wre pissed.

Glad you got to go. Definitely sad to see that era end.

Kennedy Space Center has opened (for a limited time) up a lot of places that were off limits to the public, I need to get up there before that ends.

Were you able to get up in the plane or just look from a distance?

Total bullshit that NYC got one of the shuttles and Houston didn't. It's almost like they're teasing you guys.

Hoping to spot the flyover out here this morning.

there were people going on board the 747, but i think they were military or "VIP" type people.

it was roped off a little past wingtip length

it was supposed to have been here tue, but they had weather delays so only 1 day here.

yet again teasing us as sean said.

i saw an article that basically said, we didn't know how good we had it, till we didn't have it.......might be a good sentiment.

I saw this video a few months back. No one there (form 3 years ago) because no one cared until now.

I'm actually curious if NASA will ever consolidate into one area. THey are spread out to every significant politician from the 1950s district. Maybe it's time we put them in one place. At least get JPL and Houston to Florida.

"Houston" is in Houston.

The shuttles went to four places:

South Florida, home to Cape Canaveral
Southern California, home to JPL and Edwards AFB, where it landed
Washington DC, the capital and where the politicians funded it for 30 years
And...New York, home of nothing related to the space program whatsoever.

I think it's BS.

New York is a massive tourist destination, Houston, well not so much.
