That's the best part of course, but do remember that the shutter has a finite life span. How many did you end up taking? I took something like 500 shots at the last airshow I went to this year. Have you picked a hot shoe flash up yet?

this maybe a noob Q, but the shutter is in the lens and not the body right? this is the stock lens, but i plan on getting some different ones. You are actually looking at almost all the pics i took. there are not a lot of action shots i wasted multi drive on...

The shutter is in the camera body, its is what opens and allows light to the sensor. You control how fast it opens and closes. It cannot be replaced. I think Nikon claims all their DSLRs get 100,000 shutter snaps at least. I could be off on that number though.

Aperture is the "hole" in the lens that allows light in. You control the size of the hole, which also affects what is in focus and out of focus.

Right on. And for the record I have about 150k on my D70....and that's after leaving it outside in a heavy rainstorm overnight 3 years ago. Very tough cameras.
