Thinking they would go glock or maybe S&W.

I haven't had one really fail, a few misfeeds and jams, nothing a slap and pull didn't cure. It's just a bulky clumsy pistol. It only fits comfortably to those with large hands. Really not the best choice for a issue weapon.

I've shot the 92FS and hated it. Too heavy, too clumsy, just not what I imagined. Loved the looks of it, but that was all.

Looks like a better piece for carry than the 92FS. I'd prefer it in stainless (not available) over nickel, and with black grips (easily swapped). 380 ACP ammo seems to be a bit pricier than standard 9mm, however...
The 84 Cheeta really isn't great for a carry gun. It's almost as thick as the 92, just a little shorter in length and height. I bought a used one cheap just to have it and it shoots good, but yeah ammo is more than a 9mm so I wouldn't recommend it. They do have a single stack mag version (can't remember the model) and it is nice and thin and would make a good carry gun if you want a small caliber but again there are smaller ones out there.

Also, think about ammo availability. Around here .380 is nearly impossible to find, and if you do its about $25 a box.
