they put me in a cast but I had them give me a splint too.... I went to work... and cut off the cast... put the splint on... it was gonna come off any how... when I put my boot on... so...

Between the two of us we might just have enough body parts to ride a bike together. The new name of the rally is the TW annual "cast-off" party.

I'm cutting mine of on tuesday, but, all i can think of using is an angle grinder, what did you use.

You're going to end up like one of those old fuckers that complains every time it rains.

Ask me how I know.

I have broken the same bone in my foot (shattered it actually) and I'm here to tell you that taking the cast off and riding on it is not a very smart idea.

I have constant pain in my foot from having a cast come off too early. I have a bone chip and there are days when I can hardly walk. I limp a lot.

Sorry. I hope this doesn't happen to you.

I want to use the bottom half of the cast as a splint for when I'm not on the bike, and I'm hoping they give me a new cast that I can use as support for just my hand when I am on the bike

well I hope not... but honestly... if it happens it happens... I feel good enough to ride now... and like I said... I talked to the ER DR. he said i was fine to ride if I got a brace and my boots were as restrictive as I said ( my A* SMX4's ) he said he's not worried about me making the injury worse... as I can't. but more worried about my pain threshold. and right now... VERY VERY minor pain.

just go to Rite Aid or Walgreens or something and get a brace with a rigid insert that you can velcro on and off...
