It's something those of us who don't have the time or tools to work on our bikes really reeeeeeally enjoy.

Me. My closest Buell dealer is an hour. Not awful distance...but not close. But I usually only go there for the free Buell loot and demo's.

My closest Buell dealer is 95 miles.

Deal made with the salesman and manager when I bought it, if it needs to come in, they pick it up and drop it off at my house. It works great so far. I may be without the bike for a day or two longer than if they were in town, but no worries about getting a ride from and to the dealership.

They bring a trailer to Fargo at least 3 times a week anyway. They sell more HD's to people in the Fargo area than the Fargo HD dealership.

I just swung it so they come to my place instead of me taking it to the drop off point (a trailer sales place the owner also has stock in).
If it works for me w/o inconvenience, I'll take it to the drop off point, or pick it up there, but if not... From my garage, to my garage

Many. This is a big deal/problem for big dog owners. But you buy what you want.

Funny you mention aprilia since I own one. I had a great shop/dealer that was 3 towns over, bu tthey got bough tout and dropped aprilia. Another shop picked up aprilia but have heard only horror stories about their service dept, sadly they were nearby.

I go to s shop thats about 70 miles away now but is well worth the trip. good mechanics and very customer friendly.

My closest Triumph dealer by mileage was 70 miles away but factor in DC/NOVA beltway traffic and your 1.5 hours could easily be 3. I'm glad my Sprint 1050 is gone. One more piece of shorted wiring harness on that thing and it was going for a swim into the potomac.

This very question is exactly why last year when I was bike shopping I declined a great offer on a half faired duc 900ss. I loved the bike, but the support just wasnt there.
