I have been in love with Cobras for as long as I can remember. I remember reading years ago that he asked the other replica builders to donate X number of dollars from each car sold to the heart and stroke foundation (I believe this was after this heart attack) and they refused. I don't know how much he wanted them to donate but I think it pissed him off that they wouldn't do this for him.

Myself I have always wanted to build one and still do. If things work out I could have one in the next 10 years. Maybe.

He didn't ask, he demanded along with the threat of lawsuits. This is for a design to which he doesn't come close to having sole ownership or claim. Go look at the forums dealing with Cobra replicas. These are places where Shelby should be worshiped. Because of his behavior toward the replica market he is at best tolerated while some actively dislike him.

That being said I would really like to build a Cobra someday. All I need is the combination of enough money and free time to devote to the project. Unfortunately I don't see those two requirements meeting anytime soon.

I think that is where I heard about it in the first place. It was there or a kit car mag. I don't have any bad feelings against Shelby myself.

If anything, AC cars should sue shelby
