It definitely is more challenging to ride with people faster than yourself. I ride with people faster than me 90% of the time.

Earlier this year I raced a TL1000R down Lookout Mountain. Horsepower don't matter much going downhill. On the switchbacks, he went into the opposite lane to shave the corner. Super unsafe and I hate it. I stayed in my lane and kept up with him all the way down. And we went very fast. At the bottom, I pulled up next to him. He gave me a thumbs up when he saw me on my old GS1000. |

I get challenged at stoplights and on twisty roads quite often (and I challenge others too). Both by hot cars and hot bikes. Depending on location and traffic conditions, I usually accept. I can't be the only one this happens to. In the late 80's, I raced a GSX-R1100 that had a wheelie bar. At least I was able to quickly turn off the road after he blew my doors off, because he couldn't. But at my age, I take any race I can.
