SBR, if you buy a complete built rifle (thats my plan) you don't have to have the lower engraved
daniel defense mk18 10.5" barrel

True....because it's registered under it's assigned number AS an SBR. But not many people want to drop $3,000 or better on the purchase at once. It's MUCH more affordable to do so over time.

So realistically, how much could you build an AR yourself for? Seems as if that could be the cheaper route... especially in the long run...

I was just curious... ONSSP almost bought me an AR for Christmas instead of the shotgun, but she did right, because I really wanted the shotgun... however, she's mentioned a few times that she should have bought it so we could have sold it and doubled our money... To which I responded, "yeah, but then I'd buy more motorcycle parts and other guns." To which, she responds... "glad you like your shotgun." lol

Thanks for the info! I knew about the short barrel rifle registration but, didn't make the connection with the abbreviation. I never had any interest in AR's. I like things like the Garand. All the accessories are just bulk to me and the gas operated guns are just too damn loud for what they are!

![]() I agree. And I'm in line for an M1 and carbine from my wife's father. ![]() I'd be all over the springfield if it wasn't so much more expensive. Honestly the day I bought the AR-10, if I had another $600 I would have bought the M1A Socom. Still kinda regret that
