That's the general attitude of most non Mac users, I know cause I was one. The thing is having a Mac getting attacked or taken down is very very very seldom. It's rarer than a heavily protected PC getting taken down. I hate the whole Mac image, but it's just simple fact that us Mac users are statistically less likely of having someone get into our shit than you guys. Bitch and moan all you want, but mathematics is not on your side.

Nah I don't bitch and moan, and I actually appreciate Mac's (been contemplating once since I'm looking to grow the photography business) --- but they have holes like most other things.... Yes, math is on your side. No argument there either.

But that's the traditional "Mac's better than you, fuck you" attitude --- which we could all live without.

I hate the whole Mac image. I absolutely hate it. I really dislike owning a Mac, but I also love the damn thing. It's one of the best computers I have ever owned and this fucking 27" monitor is bad fucking ass. Basically I am one confused mother fucker. OSX has it's quirks that I can't get use to, I still boot camp windows for games and other things and run Fusion for quick access to windows while still in OSX, so I am not completely Apple yet...

I also have an absolute hatred of Steve Jobs. I hate that mother fucker.

Bro I feel you, they're good machines.... I'm not gonna knock 'em. But you can't knock Micro$oft either --- they have a great all-around product line and a demanding market share, even though shit breaks more often on 'em.

My desktop machine is a Mac Mini.

I run XP mostly.

I don't hate Microsoft. I don't have a boner for them either. They did what was best for the computer market in general. Apples would cost 10k without Microsoft/Intel/IBM doing their thing. Microsoft is actually one of the best things to happen to the world. Without them pushing Apple, I doubt we would have iOS, ipods, ipads, and iphones.

Well, they pushed Apple into Intel PC hardware standardization, which is responsible for dropping the costs of Apple's products dramatically. It forced them away from their proprietary hardware, and onto the lower cost Intel platform.

That cut costs by fucking half right there.

The truth is, Apple had always been a software company, but they thought they were a hardware company. Now, realistically, they have evolved into a design company.

That model seems to be working, and in terms of cost is way more efficient. They seem to be on a roll with successful product designs for a while now.

My second (third?) system at work is a Dell Optiplex 620, running OSX. I get to hate no one.

I like the form factor, and the design. Compatibility is also paramount in what I do. Apple's hardware (with rare exception of late) offers that almost flawlessly. Other brands haven't delivered that well in this regard, so for me it's worth the premium for what I do. I also often need cross-platform compatibility, which it delivers positively top notch as well. Sometimes, you do get what you pay for. Apple laptops continually rank as the very fastest Windows machines available. Hate if you want, but you don't look bright doing it. Computers all suck. The trick is finding the one that sucks the least for what you need it for. If it costs a bit more, but it just plain works for you, then it pays for itself.
