Default Vet thing sucks...

took the mutts to the vet, one got a perfect bill of health...

... the other the vet thinks it has a heart murmur, so roughly $600 in testing they can figure it out and thats just the diagnosis estimate

anyone ever had a dog diagnosed with a heart murmur before

they have always played like nothing was wrong and never showed signs of anything being out of the normal

Not sure in dogs but murmurs in people can range from nothing to worry about to more severe complications.

We just dropped 4 bills on one of the kittehs so i can feel your pain on the financial hit

If he plays normally... I'd consider just letting him/her go without.

What is the "repair" possiblibilities if they do find a murmor?

That's what we would do.

I want to say, "Well if they're not going to fix it, why diagnose it.." But, I know if I had to mortgage the house to make my pups better, I likely would.

its a boxer, right??

Our old boxer had a heart murmur. She lived to the ripe old age of 13. We just let it alone, she didn't require any special treatment.

I have a dog that's been diagnosed with a heart murmur. We took her in originally because she was having seizures.

She's on medication that's about $100 a month but she no longer has seizures. Thing is, you just can't get her too riled up. She doesn't understand that but when she gets all riled up she flops over and has the seizure which is related to the heart. You can actually hear her heart and how abnormal it sounds if you're sitting right beside her.

The medication has been totally worth it though!
