Crashing a motorcycle? Or "crashing off" a horse?

My answer: The horse.

Holy effing mother of ***, I feel like I've been hit my a mac truck.

I can crash a motorcycle at the track and not break a thing, but falling off a horse (granted in full out run away mode) and I break my ankle, I've got rash from my ass all the way up to my neck, I think I got a concussion, and I really feel like I've been hit by a bus at the very least.

Im thinking of designing horseriding protective gear like we wear for riding. Seriously.

Good set of boots with ankle plating come first...then maybe a jacket with a speed hump for the neck, and on from there.

Too bad you cant rationally attach a seat belt. At least bikes dont have a flipping brain to think on their own.

Thank you powers that be for lortabs and valium.

never having crashed a horse I would still tend to agree with you.
heal up fast. did you have a helmet on?

I should probably add for those that dont know me, I crashed my very first track day going 80 or so, and walked away without a scratch. A very sore shoulder and a good concussion, but nothing serious.

Ironically, no. First time I went out without one, we were in a hurry to start my lesson and I was like "no, I'm good". Dummy me. Never again.

Wait till you've been tossed through a jump, or bucked off into a barrel.

I broke more bones competing on horses then i ever have riding bikes.

I cringe every time my 9 yr old daughter gets on that big ass 4 legged critter.

Her momma keeps saying that I've ridden motorcycles all my life so I shouldn't be so scared....but I tell HER the same thing YOU said......"mind of their own"

I've never had a bike "decide" to stop for no reason and throw me off

Damn Rae! Broke your ankle, is it bad or just a fracture (not that that's good)? That seriously sucks!

Next time, just wear your track gear! You'll look like the fastest girl out there

The other problem with coming off a horse is it's almost always like highsiding your bike. You start off 5 feet in the air or more depending on if you're bucked or just fall off, and landing without any real protective gear...sucks!

Heal up quick girl, hope it wasn't a bad break!

Kel, I may rethink learning to jump.

Im almost 30 friggin years old, and other than a broken toe, I've never broken a bone in my body.

Aside from the pain, the ride was incredible (horse is a race horse, retired for knee injury but still fast as f**k)and the rest was pretty comical. My poor riding instructor finally found me laying in the back pasture still trying to breathe, I calmly told her it was okay, I wasnt dead, however I was hurting pretty significantly. The lil tiny thing actuallt piggybacked me halfway back to the barn (calling me a gnarly bitch while she was carrying MY fat ass). Then some random barn patrons realized something had happened and they all insisted on carrying me back. Getting the boot off was fun too. Not really. Im lying.

Eric, they said its a fracture, apparently my ligaments tore the bone apart or something. I was kinda high at the time. I've got to go see an ortho, but Im stuck in a splint, cast or whatever else they decide to give me for at least 4-6 weeks.

The biggest kick in the ass? I am in training to become a riding instructor for the disabled, I'm almost done with the program, my certification tests are February 3-5, and they include a riding portion. I'm screwed. If I cant ride, its a ton of cash down the drain, and a waste of the last 6 months.

Having fallen off of horses a couple times myself, I can attest that even at slow speeds it's considerably more painful than falling off a bike! At least the horse never stepped on me, and both times I landed either on my back or on my side.

Heal up quick!

Hoarse is worse by far, got bucked off one a few years back, limped to the hospital to a broken jaw, cheek, dislocated shoulder, 4 broken ribs, and a chipped hip.

My worst bike injury is a50 mph highside (was riding like a tool, my fault), broken collar bone and a bruised ego
