Well I'm hoping for the VStrom this season... but doubt it.

Probably not until this time next year

that would probably be more responsible... but two problems,

1.) uncomfortable bike... as said before

2.) at the current rate, that'd put me at almost 60k on the DRZ... and I've yet to see a DRZ with that hight a mileage... shit the highest i've seen was 24k and the owner was saying he's had the motor apart twice to replace certain things...

not my idea of a good commuter or adventure touring bike...

I think you may have gotten bad fuel or something... no way even increasing 20mph you should drop 70 miles in range... that's 10mpg less!!!!
I agree, but my mileage is back up, and I run this bitch ragged. I was thinking something was seriously wrong when the fuel indicator started flashing so early. And it happened twice, so wouldn't think I got bad gas at both stops. it was ok when I was riding north, but once I headed west, things changed. Winds were VERY high and head on for the ride back home, so increasing 20mph into a serious headwind could very well have been like increasing 40mph or more. It's definitely something I'll be keeping an eye on in the future.

ahh yes running into the head wind could very well have done it...

I went from running 48mpg on average at 70... to running 65 at 75 with a strong tail wind (probably about 10-20 constant)
