Damn it! I have to go back to work on Monday, after having 30 days off. You've just inspired me, but I don't have the time anymore. I might have to spread it over a few weekends or something. Sick setup.

Me, of course.

Do you see me eyeballing workbench porn? Fuck no. If I can't accidentally gouge a hole in the fucking thing without worrying about it, it's not a workbench, it's furniture. Just to be clear, the idea is to make furniture ON the workbench, not the other way around.

Actually though, since you brought it up, Jews make shitty carpenters.

Why?

Because no matter what measurement you give them, the assholes want half off.

Thanks. I've got step by step pics if you want them when you get ready to build.

Hells yeh thats an awesome setup.

Anyways, I picked up the wood for the bench tonight, $65 in lumber, another $50 in hardware. Forgot to pick up the wheel casters. Gonna start cutting fingers tomorrow.

Ya'll and your fancy smancy work benches. Mine has served me well over the years.

Even has attachments.

Hell I even have mini work benches. Ya. The strap is there for a reason.

I got a great idea of putting two together.

There is a project that I'm working on where we have to do some demolition work. Inside the building there is a 10'x10' x 2" thick piece of plate with I-beams for legs that is about 36" tall. If I can get it out of the building easily, it's either going to our shop or our farm. If it's a bitch its going to the scrap yard.

At the house I just have a little bench that is some old butcher block that's like 4' x 2', in the garage. Usually it is loaded with stuff so it never sees any use.

I actually got a little farther than this, in fact other than putting a wooden face on the vice, and bolting the top down it's done. It weighs about 200 lbs but with the four wheel casters it rolls pretty easily. I'll wheel it out tommorrow and take some better pictures. I'm still deciding if I want to raise it another few inches, it's just bellow hip height.

Here it is while I was gluing the tail vice on the front.

The whole table

The front vice

The tail vice. The block on the left can pull right out and move over and drop into any one of the other holes along the front of the table.
