my mom had planned to get me one of these failboats for christmas. thats when i calmly informed her of my general opinion of it an that if i really wanted to read an e-book i have programs that rip .txt and .pdf files into psp sized .jpgs and my firmware can underclock its cpu for stupid long battery life. far more portable than the other two as well. i love watching folks go through the ordeal of unpacking one of those things on the train in the morning. hilarious

My sister in law wanted to get the wife one for Christmas.

I honestly don't see the benefit.

They're so thin they look like you'd break them in half if you twisted them too hard.

I always like seeing the fancy leather covers people have on them. How much do those cost, another $75-80?

I guess their only advantage is a big screen (unlike dave's psp), so you don't have to scroll as often. Also you can enlarge the text for old folks.

Yeah, I have an ebook reader on my iPhone. And if I bought a Kindle, wouldn't I have to get Sprint all over me? Eww.

heh i think the last thing i read on there was one of the honor harrington novels worked out to around 800 pages. Not too bad really. Only real issue is bookmarking but i typically will set my last page as my background which makes it easy to remember. Text and background size and color are user selectable but only once (since its written to jpg)
